About Us
Lavant football club was founded around 1910 and have had a team representing the village up to the present day.
Since their formation Lavant FC have played in a number of local leagues up until the 1956/57 Season when the Saturday 1st Team joined the West Sussex Football League (originally formed in 1896) and Lavant have had a team represented in that league ever since.
Over the years Lavant F.C. have won a number of league and cup honour’s, but their most famous achievement to date is that they are the only club currently to have won the Sussex Junior Cup competition three times, in 1958, 1976 and 1989.
Also another notable fact is that we believe that Lavant F.C. is, if not the only club, but certainly one of a very few football clubs that have won a cup competition twice in same season. They won the Bareham Trophy twice in the 1955/56 season beating Whyke 2-1 on the 10th September 1955 and beating Bognor B team 2-1 on the 23rd April 1956.
