Lavant 1 Angmering 7
Angmering deservedly made it 9 wins from 9 games with their visit to Lavant. But it was the homeside who had the better of the game for the first quarter hour, squandering 3 well created chances.
Then, against the run of play, Angmering took the lead. The Lavant ‘keeper’s error put the defence under pressure and Coe brought down Wood for Elder to dispatch the spot kick on 11 minutes.
Eight minutes later, Atterwell increased the visitor’s lead with a well executed goal. This gave Angmering the confidence that was lacking earlier and they scored twice more before half-time through Wood on 24 and Elder on 32 minutes.
Lavant changed personnel and formation for the second half and forced Angmering to give away an own goal 2 minutes into the half. But, despite the Chichester side’s Lines and Seacombe hitting the woodwork, it was Angmering who found the goals with Durham on 56 and Cooper on 70 minutes, with a Lines own goal sandwiched in between.
Coach, David Parker, commented,” Stuart Smith’s Angmering were quality in every department and will go on to do well in the Premier. They deserved their win but the scoreline wasn’t a true reflection of the game. They took their chances: we didn’t.”
