2nd July and Pre-Season Training Kicks Off

Training started last night on the village green and we had an excellent turn out of 37 keen players including the Gaffer and our the clubs new fitness instructor Mike Kent, eager to get fit for the start of the forthcoming season.

Although training was hard, everyone gave it 100% and from the responses we recieved on reflection afterwards, everyone enjoyed the session.

The next traning session is on Saturday at the top pitch starting at 11.00am.
Do not be late as the penalties effects everyone.

Each week we will be keeping a training register with results which will from time to time be displayed on the website showing your individual committment to the pre-season training programme.

Finally we would all like to welcome the 8 new players who turned out last
night for the first time, especially we should mention Greg Ockwell (sorry) who because he turned up 15 minutes past the start time, managed to get everyone a 15 minute training extension penalty at the end of the session.  Thanks Greg, at least we will be much fitter.

Training:

We are aiming during this seasons training sessions to focus mainly on fitness and ball skills, ensuring that we are first to the ball and there after we Keep It Yellow.

Pre-Season:

Training for the forthcoming season begins on Wednesday 2nd July, starting promptly at 6.30pm on the Village Green.

Training will be twice a week, every Wednesday starting 6.30pm on the village green and every Saturday starting at 11.00am at the top pitch.

Please Note:

Ensure you bring to every session football boots/trainers, running shoes and plenty of water/fluids.

Training will start promptly on time each week and for anyone late then individual & team penalties will apply (so we suggest you arrive in plenty of time to have a chat and a kick about prior to starting).

A register will be taken at each session to record attendance for purposes for judging individuals commitment to the training & fitness, for the collection of subs (which are £2 per week for training) and for fines.

A fitness stat sheet will be developed and posted on the website to record individual’s weekly results.

Pre-Season is about you getting fit!  So the challenge is personal, one of improving week on week.

The location of a training session may also vary, so listen out each week and watch the Website.

Our aim for pre-season is to have fun and get fit.  Best of luck.

Friendly Games:

These will be organized for August and are yet to be confirmed.

During the Season:

In early September once the season is underway we will revert back to training once a week, on Wednesday nights 6.30pm to 8.00pm, transferring training to the all weather pitch at Chichester College.  We remain at the college until the end of March 09 after which we revert back to Lavant.

Finally:
A new Training and Fitness page will shortly be added to the Website under the News page where relevant information will be posted.

Three Things!

Firstly:

KIF_1068

Nick Farrer is leaving the Club

Nick has been with the LFC for two season’s now but unfortunatley at the end of July he has decided to skip most of Mike Kent’s Pre-Season Training schedule and go off to New Zealand for at least a year, which could end up being permanent if he lands a full time teaching post.

He is therefore inviting all members of the club to his farewell party (Also Cathi & Helen’s Birthday Party) at the Bar Havana, Little London, Chichester on the 26th July, starting 7.00pm. LIVE MUSIC!

This could be an ideal time to kick start the apres pre-season entertainment and it would be great to if we could all turn up and wish him well on his new adventure.

Hopefully he will keep in touch via the website to let us know how he is getting on. With Roy in Australia and Nick in New Zealand the LFC is going global.

Secondly:

Mark Richardson is hoping we can support the;

CHARITY FOOTBALL MATCH in aid of Chestnut Tree House.

CELEBRITY UTD vs BOGNOR ROCKS

Sunday 10th Aug at Bognor FC, Nyewood Lane, KO 2.00pm. Tickets just £5

“Lads really appreciate it if we could get as many players/WAGS etc down to watch this then all get down the pub to watch Pompey Vs Man utd in the charity shield!!!
Will be a good day out with Luther Blisset Les ferdinand and Paul Jones all playing!!

Let me know who wants tickets!”

Again another apres pre-season entertainment event.

And Thirdly:

LFC Paintballing Day

On his return from holiday in early July, Matt Court (Or otherwise known as The Legend) has decided to get on and organize (Seeing as Jude never got around to it, even after lots of stick on the Forum. – Bothered) a Paintballing day.

There will be limited number of places as he has already organized a mini bus so whoever puts there name down on the forum gets first shout.

COME ON LETS GO SHOOT SOME ONE.
Perhaps a good one for the strikers in the club to practice aiming at and hitting the target.

Apres pre-season entertainment continues.
