Training started last night on the village green and we had an excellent turn out of 37 keen players including the Gaffer and our the clubs new fitness instructor Mike Kent, eager to get fit for the start of the forthcoming season.
Although training was hard, everyone gave it 100% and from the responses we recieved on reflection afterwards, everyone enjoyed the session.
The next traning session is on Saturday at the top pitch starting at 11.00am.
Do not be late as the penalties effects everyone.
Each week we will be keeping a training register with results which will from time to time be displayed on the website showing your individual committment to the pre-season training programme.
Finally we would all like to welcome the 8 new players who turned out last
night for the first time, especially we should mention Greg Ockwell (sorry) who because he turned up 15 minutes past the start time, managed to get everyone a 15 minute training extension penalty at the end of the session. Thanks Greg, at least we will be much fitter.
Training:
We are aiming during this seasons training sessions to focus mainly on fitness and ball skills, ensuring that we are first to the ball and there after we Keep It Yellow.
Pre-Season:
Training for the forthcoming season begins on Wednesday 2nd July, starting promptly at 6.30pm on the Village Green.
Training will be twice a week, every Wednesday starting 6.30pm on the village green and every Saturday starting at 11.00am at the top pitch.
Please Note:
Ensure you bring to every session football boots/trainers, running shoes and plenty of water/fluids.
Training will start promptly on time each week and for anyone late then individual & team penalties will apply (so we suggest you arrive in plenty of time to have a chat and a kick about prior to starting).
A register will be taken at each session to record attendance for purposes for judging individuals commitment to the training & fitness, for the collection of subs (which are £2 per week for training) and for fines.
A fitness stat sheet will be developed and posted on the website to record individual’s weekly results.
Pre-Season is about you getting fit! So the challenge is personal, one of improving week on week.
The location of a training session may also vary, so listen out each week and watch the Website.
Our aim for pre-season is to have fun and get fit. Best of luck.
Friendly Games:
These will be organized for August and are yet to be confirmed.
During the Season:
In early September once the season is underway we will revert back to training once a week, on Wednesday nights 6.30pm to 8.00pm, transferring training to the all weather pitch at Chichester College. We remain at the college until the end of March 09 after which we revert back to Lavant.
Finally:
A new Training and Fitness page will shortly be added to the Website under the News page where relevant information will be posted.
